Announcement #1 today:
Marimekko fabric is on sale at the REPRODEPOT. I am not typing any exclamation point here but don't be fooled, I am having finger cramps from not ordering any NOW. It makes great nursery fabric (excuse to tell husband when he gets the bill). If you cannot resist I should point out that they have super cheap accessories in the same fabrics on sale (bibs, wallets, aprons).
Announcement #2:
I have scored the fabric deal of the century last night. Where? at work of all places. As I am helping to look for a mystery bolt of sandy Gervais valentine's panel, my eyes wander to the sale table and see, just sitting there in plain view a bolt of this Alexander Henry goodness:
price : $4/yard. length left on the bolt: 9 yards.
I guess I know what the nursery theme is going to be. No need to brainstorm any longer. This print happens to fit the mid-century modern theme I had fantasized about, and it will fit great (I hope) with the grey crib currently stored in the middle of our bedroom in a large cardboard box. This is what I really covet, I think it would be a brilliant echo of the fabric.
To celebrate this good fortune, those two bend-the-rules-sewing bibs were born. I used two layers of Gerber diaper cloth instead of the prescribed flannel back. just because.
I love the fabric! and only $4/yard! How great! The bibs look perfect. And the crib is just amazing, I love the design. You are on your way to having the most stylish nursery around. Lucky baby :)

I'm with you! That fabric screams 1950s -- 60s and will look fantastic with the gray crib! Please post lots of pics of what you make with your fabric find!

J'adore ce motif, c'est vraiment dommage qu'il n'y en ai plus dans le reprodepot juste quand j'en ai commandé...
