About two years ago I went to Quilt Market in Portland, OR and visited the Oliver + S booth. I was immediately smitten. At the event they were selling a stack of their patterns for $25. I promptly bought myself one and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing. Last week I realized that the pattern sizes I bought go to 18-24 months and started panicking. Finn's little friend E is celebrating her second birthday this month and she is the only baby girl I know of... Thankfully for me she is on the small side so I should have about six months to make all of them.
This is my first attempt at an Oliver + S pattern and I must say two things: one, this is the real deal, no short cuts and a beautiful garment in the end; two, if you are just getting into sewing, this pattern at least is not for you.
I went with snaps in the back for multiple reasons, mostly because they are so darn cute.
Incidentally, while browsing the brand's website for more inspiration I noticed that they are having a summer sale, 15% off two patterns. The link is here.
PS: I have been making some mistakes answering comments while using my Ipad. I am sorry about this, especially if you felt ignored, I won't do it again... most likely.
I actually sewed a dress for the first time with this pattern! And I kept coming back to buy her patterns every season :) they're the best!

I love Oliver + S patterns. The details are so amazing and great for someone like me who's not a big finisher because they're written right into the directions. I'm supposed to be working on the ice cream dress but got distracted by some other projects.

I'm sure she Finn's girlfriend will be just beautiful in this dress. Good to see you on blogland! As soon as I get my act together I have a couple pieces to quilt at your house. I'll call you.

Did you use linen for this dress? I think linen would be best for the little girl this summer. Anyway, the pattern is so beautiful!
