I have to convince myself it's not all gloom and doom out here, despite the frigid weather and the dirty snow. I am still high on the Holiday spirit this year, although I should probably start going easy on the sweets ! It's because the Christmas pixies relayed the message properly and Santa brought me Illustrator ( JOY!). I spend yesterday's evening watching at least twenty 'How to get started' videos and drawing a pathetic looking mushroom; never the less I am going to keep him for the record.
So to break the lousy mood the weather is sending our way, I decided to make a little wallet with the quilted scraps from two days ago. Incidentally, to whom it may concern, the packages are on their merry way, the postal attendant said that First Class Priority Mail takes 10 days... quite an oxymoron don't you think ?
This funny little thing took no time to whip-up. working without a pattern can be so liberating! of course I made the mistake of not including a strap in the seams. So it's added with a cute button. I love buttons, but I hate making button holes... so it's snaps and eyelets for me this year. The lazy way out can mean the difference between a finished project and something that ends up in a box.
I know that I must give it away, it makes me smile too much. Everybody needs a bit of cheer! Especially come Monday...
PS: a charming link for the day, it's all in japanese but the pictures are all the fun : Maminka
Great way to use up some of your scraps! I love that you decided on an outdoor photo shoot!
