Recently I made a decision, which might turn out to be a temporary lapse in judgment. I decided not to invest in any of the many irresistible Japanese craft books but to instead renew my subscription to Ottobre Design and expand it to the children issues. It's not cheap so I had to think about it for a moment. For those who have never heard of it, Ottobre is a magazine from Finland ( translated in English, well) that contains many many patterns (full size) for children clothe four times a year and women clothe twice a year.
The kids patterns are super cute while the women patterns are very wearable by anybody, not just Kate Moss or Carla Bruni (hail the new French first lady...I blush in shame).
I scanned my favorite outfit ( which I plan to sew in boy colors), but all the pages can be browsed upon on their webpage
Oh! and my next post will be the 100Th... I might implode on the spot.
Cute!!!
Wow, your next post is the 100th? congratulations!

Exciting!!! 100th post...what are you going to talk about ;) That ottobre magazine seems very nice. You made a good decision. Just one question: where do you get your Japanese craft books?

You'll love Ottobre! I have several issues and just love them. They seem to have a good balance of boy and girl clothes - there's even sizes large enough for my 10 year old!
Congratulations on your (upcoming) 100 post!

Oh, so did I after your comment on my blog about Ottobre! I also subscribed to both editions and I agree that the women's patterns were surprisingly generous in sizing. Expensive yes, but I think we'll get a many years of use from the children's issues especially.
After bluffing my way through the Japanese books, I'm excited to be able to read some instructions for a change.
Thanks for mentioning the magazine and congrats on your 99th post too!

Hello,
I am Dorothea from Germany and
I read your blog each day. My daughter is pregnant and we wait for the baby in July. We do not know what it will be till yet. In three weeks we hope to know it.
I want to make your baby quilt and I am looking for fabrics.
I also bought the Octobre magazines for kids and they are excellent.
It will be a lot of fun to sew for my grandchild.
Greetings
Dorothea
