update: Thomas is doing much better and was able to go back to work this week, everything is looking up!
I mentioned a few weeks ago that Rae asked me to be a judge again for her annual Sewing contest. It closed yesterday and I want to share with you some of my absolute favorite tops. This year the peasant blouses were dominant in the pool but I honestly don't know if they fit anyone right, they just don't seem to 'do' much for your body whatever the shape. I found some really good knit tops such as the one below to be my favorite:
see her cute blog, very purple person.
I was impressed by the impeccable details of this wonderfully orange Tee.
here is her blog.
And stared endlessly at the fabulous/unusual color combo of this cotton kimono. Very Kaffe Fasset.
Her blog.
If you are thinking of sewing a top for yourself this summer, I would really recommend looking at the flickr pool, most entries have the name of the pattern used and it's a great way to discover new ideas and see if they might look good on you. I cannot wait to see the winning entry!
I love the orange top! But I do love orange - and purple.

Wow, these are all so beautiful. I agree with Lisa. I love the orange top. I will have to follow her blog, along with this one, to keep up with some great fashion!
