First attempt at The Green Pepper F890 Polar Sock pattern.
I tried three different kinds of fleece fished from the remnant bin at Joann's and learned that no two is created equal! I also learned that I hate microfleece aka minky with a fiery passion. My favorite so far is this anti-pill blue (pictured above) that feels a bit like a fuzzy teddy bear I grew up with (L'Oursonne). I need to make some pattern adjustments as my feet are very narrow and the sock is a bit loose on the ankle. One wonders though how much of the ankle can go before the sock gets uncomfortable to slip on. I plan on finding out so stay tuned for further development!
cute knees! ;) The socks look so warm and comfortable! What kind of seam did you do? I guess I could just look at the pattern but it's easier to just ask. ;)

Thank You Lisa!
You know I always hated my knees, as much as my red toes in fact. One day I told a really good Parisian friend of mine about it and she said to me: "WHO likes their knees?". That cured me to wear short skirts for the rest of my life!
About the stitches I used, I differed a bit from the pattern using a #3 on the bernina (it's two trait one zigzag). I plan on writing an in depth review this weekend, so you will find out much much more!

These look like they could be great with some adjustments as you mentioned! Fleece is hard to find (good fleece, anyway). I'm excited to see what you come up with.

Thank you Lauren for dropping by, I think that the anti-pill at Joann is truly the best they have to offer there. It's not the most expensive either. My friend Sara knows a place where you can get the 'real stuff', I will ask her where it is when she comes back from the East Coast unless she reads this and tells us in a comment ; )

Not bad...These turned out much better than I expected after reading the first post you wrote about them :) They are cute with the little detail at the top. I am going to check back. I am always cold too so I am going to have to pay close attention ;)

Hello Angela!
Thank you for reading my blog and for your comment, I was a also a little surprised at the results. The knee high socks are much cuter than the calf height though. And you are right the detail at the top makes them look very Boden. I cut a lot more last night, with a narrower fit, lets see what happens once they are sewn.
